Full traceability

Each product lot is associated with essential identification information, helping create a clearer, better organized, and safer supply chain.

What lot traceability really means

Lot traceability means that each quantity of product can be linked to the information that identifies it and accompanies it throughout its commercial journey, from catch to the final client.

In practice, the product moves together with its essential data, such as:

This way, every stage maintains the connection between the product and its core identifying information.

How it works in practice

1. On board the vessel
After the catch, essential information is recorded, such as the species caught, estimated quantities, and fishing area. These details are entered into the relevant reporting systems.

2. At auction / first sale
Once the fish arrives at port, it is unloaded, organized into lots, and entered into the auction system. At this stage, each lot receives a clear identification, and data such as species, quantity, fishing area, and date are associated with that specific lot.

3. At processors, distributors, and suppliers
After purchase, the product is handled together with its information. Each operator keeps a clear record of the lot: what was purchased, in what quantity, which lot it comes from, and to whom it was delivered further.

Why traceability matters

Food safety
If an irregularity occurs, the lot can be identified more quickly, verified, and removed from circulation where necessary.

Control and responsibility
Traceability allows a clearer follow-up of each stage in the commercial chain and highlights the responsibility of every operator involved.

Better organization
When products are correctly identified and maintained by lot, their management becomes clearer, more efficient, and safer.
