At Pure Iordan, responsibility begins before the product ever reaches the table. It begins in the way we view the source, in the way we select, and in the way we understand the chain between the sea and the client. Staying close to fishermen and auctions means staying close to reality: to boats, to people, to the way the work is done, to origin, to seasonality, and to the information that truly matters.
We care about the correct species, a clear catch area, traceability, and operational seriousness. We care about what types of boats go out to sea, what equipment and nets are used, what type of catch enters the market, how the product is handled on board, how the vessel is prepared for work, and how much care exists for the product from the very start of its journey.
We also care about the day-to-day reality of the sector: news, needs, seasonal changes, challenges, new market requirements, and the way fishermen and processors adapt.
We also follow closely the direction modern fishing is taking: more responsible practices, more efficient equipment, cleaner solutions, the transition toward more economical vessels and engines, and the sector’s adaptation to current environmental and traceability requirements.
At the same time, we understand what the market asks for, what people are looking for, and how a better relationship can be built between fisherman, processor, and client.
Responsible sourcing is about the source, the people, the way of working, and the ability to understand the product beyond the moment of sale.
